For stores on TCG Sync

A TCG Sync alternative with no setup fee and no percentage.

TCG Sync's pitch is honest: no monthly bill, $1,000 to start, 2% of every card you sell. That is a good deal for a small store and a growing one for a busy one. Foil Haven's pitch is the opposite shape: a flat $0, $79 or $149 a month, nothing up front, and the bill stays the same the month you sell out of a hot set.

Worked example: a store selling $10,000 a month in singles and sealed pays TCG Sync $200 a month in commission, $2,400 a year, or $3,400 in the first year with the setup fee. At $25,000 a month it pays $500 a month. The same store on Foil Haven Pro pays $149 a month, $1,788 a year, at either volume. The crossover is about $7,450 a month in card sales; below it TCG Sync's percentage is the cheaper monthly bill. Card processing is extra on both. TCG Sync figures are from its pricing page as of October 29, 2026.

Why do stores look for a TCG Sync alternative?

Usually it's the percentage, once the store is past the crossover. A flat fee is easy to plan around; 2% of card sales grows every month you do well, and it is charged on sealed product where margins are thinnest. The other reason is Shopify. TCG Sync treats your Shopify store as the source of truth, so a shop that sells mostly over the counter still runs its inventory through an online store it may not want.

The usual alternatives each have a catch. BinderPOS sends new stores to a waitlist (details). CrystalCommerce charges a $599 setup fee and 2.5% of online sales (compared here). Storepass's card-shop register starts at $499 a month (compared here).

Where we fit

What does Foil Haven do differently?

Every valuable single is its own record with condition, cost and location, and its live market price sits next to what you paid. The kiosk, the buylist and the store-credit ledger are included on the free plan. Growth adds the repricer, gift cards, events and TCGplayer CSV export; Pro adds the register, per-game pricing rules and all 10 games.

Inventory lives in Foil Haven, not in Shopify. The counter and the kiosk work on day one with no website at all, and when you do want one, the hosted store site is $10 a store a month or Shopify is an optional channel.

When should you stay on TCG Sync?

If Cardmarket, eBay, Cardtrader or Mana Pool bring in real money, stay. TCG Sync syncs all of them and we sync none. If you run live auctions or stream breaks, it has that built in and we don't. And if your card sales are under about $7,450 a month, its 2% is a smaller bill than our $149. We're young, one person answers support, and our catalog covers about 170,000 cards across 10 games. Our case is narrower: if your money comes through the door, you shouldn't pay a percentage of it.

Questions about switching from TCG Sync

How much does TCG Sync cost?

TCG Sync's pricing page lists Storefront Pro at a $1,000 one-time setup fee plus 2% of TCG singles and sealed sales across POS, Shopify and marketplaces, with no monthly subscription; non-TCG items such as comics, board games and accessories are not charged. Enterprise starts from $2,499 a month with no setup fee and no sales percentage (as of October 29, 2026).

Is 2% of sales cheaper than a subscription?

Below about $7,450 a month in card sales, yes: 2% of that is $149, the price of Foil Haven Pro. Above it, the percentage costs more every month you grow. A store selling $10,000 a month in singles and sealed pays TCG Sync $200 a month, $2,400 a year, and $3,400 in the first year with the setup fee. At $25,000 a month it pays $500 a month. Foil Haven Pro is $149 a month at any volume.

Do I need Shopify to use TCG Sync or Foil Haven?

TCG Sync requires it: your Shopify store is the source of truth and TCG Sync syncs the POS and marketplaces to it. Foil Haven does not. Inventory lives in Foil Haven, the counter and kiosk run without a website, and Shopify is an optional channel you can connect later.

Can I import my TCG Sync inventory into Foil Haven?

Not with a one-click importer yet. Foil Haven's competitor import reads BinderPOS, CrystalCommerce, TCGplayer Pro, BigCommerce and Square files. Because TCG Sync keeps your stock in Shopify, send your Shopify product export to support@foilhaven.com before you switch and we will tell you which columns map and what would need review.

Can Foil Haven list my cards on Cardmarket or eBay?

No. Foil Haven has no eBay, Cardmarket or Cardtrader channel. It sells through your counter, your kiosk, an optional Shopify store, an optional hosted website ($10 or $29 per store a month), and TCGplayer by CSV export and orders import on Growth and Pro. If European marketplaces or eBay are a large share of your sales, TCG Sync covers them and we don't.

Can I try Foil Haven before I leave TCG Sync?

Yes. Counter is free with no card required, and the live demo opens a sample store with no signup. Run it next to TCG Sync until you are sure.
